What Should We Pay Attention to when Using an Infusion Pump?
the matters needing attention when using the infusion pump
The infusion pump is an instrument that can accurately control the number of infusion drops or the infusion flow rate, and ensure that the drug can enter the patient's body at a uniform speed, accurate and safe to play a role. At the same time, it is an intelligent infusion device.

The infusion speed of the infusion pump is not affected by human blood pressure and the operator, and the infusion is accurate and reliable, which helps to reduce the intensity of clinical nursing work and improve the accuracy, safety, and quality of care of the infusion. The followings are the matters needing attention when using the infusion pump.

1. Only trained professional maintenance personnel can perform product maintenance.

2. After long-term use of the infusion pump, if the button on the operation surface is dented or broken, the manufacturer should be notified to replace it in time, otherwise, it may affect the normal use of the pump.

3. The single-use infusion set produced by the manufacturer specified in the manual should be selected accurately. If the infusion set of unsuitable quality is selected, it may cause an inaccurate rate and false alarms of pressure. For the designated infusion set, its shape, structure, size, biochemical, physical, measurement, and other indicators must be tested and approved by the relevant supervision department.

4. When the infusion pump is used continuously for more than 8 hours, if you want to ensure high infusion accuracy, you need to move the infusion line to the upstream direction. This is to ensure that the infusion line is not squeezed between the power box and the pressure plate.

5. When reinstalling the infusion pipeline, the squeezed infusion pipeline cannot be installed between two ultrasonic sensors, otherwise, a false alarm of pipeline bubbles will occur.

6. The flow regulator must be in the pipeline between the infusion pump and the patient, and it should be on before starting the infusion pump.

7. If the air bubbles in the pipeline between the infusion pump and the patient can be detected, they must be manually removed.

8. When the room temperature is lower than 20℃±2℃ or the rate is greater than 30ml/h, it is generally not recommended to set the blocking pressure of the infusion pump to "low" (when the temperature is low, the infusion tube wall is hard and will easily cause a blocking false alarm).

9. Do not use force to press the force measuring contact, otherwise, the load cell will be damaged.

10. The material and pipe diameter error of the infusion set will affect the output accuracy of the pump. When testing the accuracy of the pump, a special infusion set for infusion pumps with better flexibility and small diameter error should be selected.

11. When other infusion systems or accessories are connected to the infusion set on the pump, please ensure that there is no air bubble input and the infusion set on the pump must be equipped with a one-way valve.

12. The blocking alarm threshold is greatly affected by the ambient temperature and the material of the infusion tube. The detection must be tested in accordance with the requirements in GB9706.27: especially when the inferior quality infusion set is selected, the blocking alarm threshold may be inaccurate.

13. The infusion volume setting must be as close as possible to the actual volume in the container, generally 15ml smaller than the actual volume, otherwise, it is possible to pump all the liquid in the tube until the pipeline bubble alarms and stops.

14. The rechargeable battery in the infusion pump should be charged and discharged once a month to prevent it from being unusable due to the exhaustion of the battery when working with the battery.

15. Although the battery has a rated power duration of 5.5 hours, the battery is damaged or incompletely charged, the time the battery can be used for pump operation cannot be guaranteed.

16. When the battery power is exhausted and the alarm is issued, the infusion pump should be connected to the AC power supply to charge or shut down in time, otherwise, the power in the battery is exhausted and the battery may be damaged.

17. Before the first use, it should be charged continuously for 16 hours in the off state.

Charging method: Connect the infusion pump to the AC power source in the shutdown state, the AC indicator light is on, and the pump is in the charging state.

18. The system time needs to be reset after simultaneous AC and DC power failure: rate, KVO rate, system pressure, and infusion set brand. The last setting will be permanently saved.

19. This product is strictly forbidden to be used on blood transfusion occasions.
